Mother's Day
Once of the special blessings of Mother's Day is celebrating the ones who came before you in this role, so it worked out great to have Grandma Dena, Aunt Julie, and Grandma Deni (along with the non-mothers but still special Uncle Dell, Trent, and Lauren) here for that weekend. We watched Germany touring videos from their trip 18 (!) years ago, toured the fantastic Nationality Rooms in the Cathedral of Learning, and celebrated Dell's new job. How sweet to have four generations together!
Of course I missed seeing my own mom and aunt on that day, but can't wait for the celebrations we have in store very soon together!

36!
And somehow in the midst of the spring, my love turned 36! We celebrated him with a few warm weather gifts and a indoor/outdoor party since the weather couldn't make up its mind what to do. We love the Man of the House so much, only his favorite rum cake (with a side of pork tacos) would do.
Spring Fling!
Spring is always full of activity and this one was no different. I was lucky enough to have a weekend to myself in WI to celebrate bride-to-be Hannah. So. Much. Fun! The Brewers game and tailgate were chillier than we would have liked but they beat the Cubs and the food, drinks, and socializing made it all worth it. She had a fantastic clan of ladies there to toast her as she soon begins married life. We spent the next day at church, coffee, and the Big Bend homestead. So many memories and such a dear friend to reminisce with. The only thing better will be her wedding weekend!
(On a side note, I realized walking through the airport and shuttle that the man next to me looked familiar. Turns out it was Luke Ravenstahl. He even politely witnessed my girls excitedly welcoming me off the escalator.)
