COVID Week 4

I'm trying to keep a somewhat recent record of how things have been going here.  The kids have continued to do well with distance learning and have loved playing outside in the good weather.  Carrigan even did her class Zoom lesson on the trampoline which is basically her dream life. The twins are loving having their sisters around more.

One of the best days this week was the planned surprise from Mali and Brinnly's Spanish teacher.  Brinnly has scored a 100 % on her Spanish test while school was still in session and the regular reward for that is takeout tacos from lunch, delivered to the cafeteria.  Her teacher was determined to make good on that, so she arranged a "socially distancing picnic" with tacos and was gracious enough to include Mali too.  We all teared up as she prayed before their meal, realizing how much we appreciate their school.

Finally, this is how our Palm Sunday looked.  We worshipped along with our church's Sunday service and found artificial palm branches to use for the last hymm.  We trust that Easter will indeed come, regardless of our current circumstances.  Pajamas for church and all.

Ice Cream Experiments

We had a surprise drop-off from some friends last night:  Purple Door Ice Cream!  That local company has put together "e-leaning packs" which include four pints of ice cream and and instructions on how to do an experiment with the (included) dry ice.  The kids had a blast watching it!

Wrapping Up COVID-19 Week 3

We are finishing up our third week of managing during COVID-19 and our first week with all six kids doing distance learning.  The weather has felt much more spring-like since Wednesday and that is wonderful!

Here are a few highlights from the week:
Carrigan's perler bead project she designed for me.

Mali and her friends surprising another friend with "Happy Birthday" signs

Carrigan offering me a mug of "tea" on April 1st.  (It was really water with food coloring!)

The box from our new washing machine quickly became a play house!  The "mailbox" on the top corner is actually a delivery chute for LaCroix, according to Grant!

Delaney's sweet teacher sent a package of what she always calls "test tubes" aka life savers.

I didn't get a picture, but Brinnly made a fantastic meal this week:  https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/southern-shrimp-and-grits/
